I-5 PAVING & AUXILIARY LANE PROJECT ONLINE OPEN HOUSE
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is working to improve traffic conditions and highway operations on I-5 from Highway 99W to I-205. The project design will be complete in summer 2017 with construction beginning in early 2018 and lasting about two years and includes:
Adding a single southbound auxiliary lane on I-5 from north of Lower Boones Ferry Road to I-205 to relieve congestion and reduce crashes. The auxiliary lane work includes on- and off-ramp lane modifications at Lower Boones Ferry Road and Nyberg Street, and the on-ramp to I-205.
Modifying signs, lighting, striping and building retaining walls.
Repaving approximately 5.5 miles of I-5 from Highway 99W to I-205. This will extend the service life of the roadway for another 10-15 years.
Adding a second exit lane at the northbound exit ramp for Lower Boones Ferry Road to relieve congestion.
